About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join HM Treasury as a Policy Adviser, working on key growth-focused policy areas, including employment and migration policy. As a Policy Adviser, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Government's implementation of the Plan to Make Work Pay, particularly through the new Employment Rights Bill.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage HM Treasury's overall engagement and support of the Employment Rights Bill, acting as a key point of contact between the Department for Business and HM Treasury.
  • Advise ministers on policy options, working with data and other evidence, and collaborating with economic and other policy advisers in HM Treasury's Economics and Tax and Welfare groups.
  • Lead on ministerial and Special Adviser briefings to assist ministers in dealing with the media and Parliament.
  • Act as a key point of contact on specific employment right policy areas, dealing with any problems or queries as they arise.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to clearly explain your thinking, and the drive to overcome challenges and see your ideas through into action and delivery. You will also need to be flexible, able to quickly build relationships, and make progress on issues that interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
