Policy Adviser

The Climate and Environment Team at HM Treasury is seeking a talented Policy Adviser to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to shape policy in areas related to green growth, net zero, and climate change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop expertise in the relationship between net zero and growth, including growth opportunities and risks associated with the net zero transition.
- Assess and shape growth policy in line with net zero objectives, and net zero policy to support growth objectives.
- Use critical thinking and analytical skills to ensure a clear strategy for policy areas, putting clear structures around analytical work, and using the right metrics to communicate complicated policy and its economic context.
- Build and maintain constructive and positive relationships, coordinating and managing the HM Treasury Climate & Environment Board and engagement with ministers on net zero.
What You'll Need:
- Skilled at evaluating differing sources of evidence and applying considered judgement to come to conclusions.
- Able to build positive working relationships, utilising these to deliver objectives, as well as considering and adapting to the broader economic, political, and social context.
