Procurement Manager - Infrastructure Projects

Location - Flexible

Key Responsibilities:

As a Procurement Manager, you will be integral to our Infrastructure initiatives, ideally located within proximity to our operations, although we are open to discussing relocation support. You will collaborate with both pre-contract and delivery teams, ensuring the efficient and strategic procurement of subcontractors and essential materials for your projects, which includes:

  • Collaborating with pre-contract and senior teams to establish effective packaging strategies and approaches to external expenditures for their projects, continuously reviewing and adapting to market dynamics and resource availability.
  • Developing and managing procurement control schedules, leading weekly procurement meetings to coordinate with internal teams and ensure procurement activities align with timelines and budgets.
  • Overseeing the complete ITT process up to contract award, including pre-qualification, evaluation of 'best value', coordination of commercial and qualitative assessments, credit evaluations, negotiation of terms, and securing necessary approvals.
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor performance on projects, ensuring performance metrics are recorded and both positive and negative performances are addressed appropriately, contributing to broader trend analysis and improvements.
  • Serving as a reliable source of procurement expertise and market insights for both pre-contract and delivery teams, coordinating with material and equipment buyers and supporting wider Group procurement initiatives.
  • Advocating for the procurement function, ensuring compliance with processes and identifying opportunities for enhancements and innovations.
  • Representing projects at networking events and client meetings as required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Candidates should ideally hold MCIPS qualifications or be actively pursuing CIPS certification.
  • Previous experience in the Infrastructure or Highways sector is preferred.
