Database Support Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of our enterprise databases, ensuring they remain secure, efficient, and compliant with our customers' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a range of database administration tasks in a ITIL service environment
- Ensure systems remain secure and up-to-date proactively supporting the services in multiple secure level environments
- Work with delivery teams to onboard new features and functionality, pushing to bridge the knowledge gap within an agile delivery model and ITIL service
Requirements:
- Experience in an ITILv3/v4 support enterprise environment
- Understanding of SecDevOps and/or Agile delivery methodologies
- Excellent ticket/task management practices
- MS SQL Server 2016 & PostgreSQL DBA experience in an Operational Support environment
- Knowledge of the change and operational release cycle, including Systems Integration, Development, and Test
- Experience of IT architectures and the application of Software/Systems engineering principles within a secure IT environment
- A history as a proactive 'self-starter', able to respond to complex situations with little oversight and asking for support from other technical experts as required
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2016 support, Windows Server, RHEL, and VMWare environments
- Occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites may be required
