Scope of Position:

Create an engaging work environment that inspires your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will model high standards and values, motivating their team to excel in delivering exceptional room quality and public area services.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking charge of the housekeeping department in the absence of Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
  • Providing consistent professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Managing room and public area quality standards.
  • Responsible for staff skill management.
  • Developing and implementing training programs for the housekeeping department.
  • Conducting HSK inductions for new staff and trainees.
  • Supporting Talent & Culture with induction talks.
  • Monitoring and improving daily operations to maintain service standards.
  • Communicating standard changes throughout the department.
  • Being available to support other departments when needed.
  • Maintaining up-to-date training manuals and their accessibility.
  • Distributing daily reports to room attendants and briefing on standards and quality.
  • Conducting daily room and staff quality checks.
  • Promoting good relationships among employees.
  • Maintaining staff grooming standards.
  • Completing delegated tasks effectively.
  • Providing necessary equipment and chemicals for effective job execution.
  • Implementing HSK induction schedules for trainees.
  • Ensuring staff understand the essence of HSK.
  • Managing labor costs while ensuring effective scheduling and productivity.
  • Addressing guest concerns promptly and notifying relevant departments.
  • Managing departmental budget responsibly.
  • Ensuring effective communication, including coaching and performance management.
  • Training employees to follow LQA standards consistently.
  • Collaborating with Executive Housekeeper on remodeling and renovation projects.
  • Attending regular department meetings.
  • Following department policies and procedures.
  • Following safety and sanitation policies.
  • Participating in Duty Manager program.
  • Ensuring smooth operations and excellent service delivery.
  • Being proactive in HSK outlets training needs.
  • Effectively communicating with other departments.
  • Ensuring department adheres to LHW/Mystery guests standards.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Hospitality Management degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Housekeeping and leadership positions.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal, written, reading).
  • Superior customer service and above-average problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Well-developed supervisory skills.
  • Leadership pipeline.
  • Coaching.
  • Teaching.
  • Butler Training.
