About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Education and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Sovereign & Bale. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to lead our education and quality assurance efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of tutors to ensure timely task completion and adherence to assessment practices as required by the framework and Awarding Body specifications.
  • Innovate and implement curriculum changes that align with the organisation's needs, local communities' priorities, government priorities, and awarding bodies' requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Service's Quality Improvement Strategy by ensuring excellence in assessment, moderation, and verification processes.
  • Prepare staff and program-related documentation for inspection visits, with particular attention given to the accuracy of timetables, work diaries, scheme of work, and lesson plans.
  • Introduce, implement, and recommend additional measures to improve teaching and learning.
  • Lead the Internal Verification of the provision.
  • Implement quality practices that meet business, government, and contractual obligations requirements.
  • Improve the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment, exceeding National Averages for success and enhancing learners' experience.
  • Coordinate, support, and execute informal and formal Quality Assurance observations of each point in a learning journey.
  • Maintain appropriate records in line with awarding body expectations and support the Exams Officer in achievement recording, coordinating timely claims to maximise learner achievement.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Quality and Curriculum Manager detailing areas of continued improvement and further development.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a level 3 in teaching and training or a willingness to work towards level 5 or PGCE in teaching and learning qualification.
  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification.
  • Relevant QCF Assessor qualification (e.g., D32/D33/A1/CAVA/TAQA Assessor).
  • Relevant Internal Verifier/Internal Quality Assurer qualification (e.g., D34/V1).
  • Clear understanding of learners' assessment, teaching, learning, achievement, and progression.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, delivering quality assurance within training programmes, data analysis and performance management, working with employers, working with and understanding the requirements of Awarding Organisations, delivering internal training to improve quality assurance practices to be outstanding.
  • Clear understanding of verification, moderation, and standardisation.
  • Ability to deliver staff development activities related to improving assessment practice in moderation and standardisation.
  • Commitment to a learner-centred approach.
  • Ability to build a rapport and good working relationships with partner organisations.
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeship Reforms and associated Government priorities, including funding methodology, frameworks/standards, and End Point Assessment.
