About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing support and encouragement to people with dementia, helping them to feel at ease and participate in our structured group sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and engage with people with dementia, creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Provide encouragement and support to participants, helping them to participate in the singing activity.
  • Work collaboratively with the session facilitator to ensure the smooth delivery of the session.
  • Support the facilitator with online or in-person sessions, as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to listen and display compassion.
  • Fun and enthusiastic approach.
  • Ability to navigate online platforms and use Zoom with confidence (for virtual sessions).
  • No experience of dementia is necessary, nor is the ability to sing.
