Job Title: Interim Finance Director

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled and qualified Interim Finance Director to join the finance team at a prestigious private school in the Plymouth area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and delivering timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Accounting: Responsible for the financial accounting of the foundation and its trading subsidiaries, ensuring that fees and expenses are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Finance Business Partner: Act as the finance business partner, liaising with budget holders as appropriate. Produce the monthly management accounts, provide variance analysis, and work with budget holders to meet budgetary expectations.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring ledgers are maintained in good order and all transactions are appropriately recorded in a timely manner.
  • Debtors Ledger: Oversee the debtors ledger and support the recovery of outstanding and overdue fees.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Oversee and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Budget and Forecasting: Production and management of the annual budget and term reforecast. Maintain the monthly cash flow forecast.
Requirements:
  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Proven experience in a similar role (not essential).
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
