Finance Director Opportunity

Trial Balance Consulting is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join their team in Plymouth. As a key member of the management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing financial systems and processes, as well as recruiting and developing a small finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in a similar role in a business operating above audit threshold. They will also possess exceptional leadership and supervisory skills, as well as high-level technology skills and the ability to design and implement efficient accounting systems and processes.

The Finance Director will work closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop and implement the company's financial strategy, including managing the current financial health of the business and future financial strategy. They will also be responsible for producing regular management information, reporting statutory accounts, and working with external stakeholders on business strategy and financial support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the current financial health of the business and future financial strategy
  2. Produce regular management information for the senior management team
  3. Report statutory accounts
  4. Work with the CEO and senior management team on business strategy and financial support
  5. Develop and implement digital systems and processes
  6. Assume a lead role in costing and forecasting for all entities of the business and future projects
  7. Lead cashflow management and budget setting
  8. Develop strong relationships with external stakeholders, customers, and key suppliers
  9. Project and materials costing analysis and planning
  10. Oversee payroll for a growing headcount of colleagues
  11. Work with external accountants to prepare for the annual audit

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in a similar role in a business operating above audit threshold. They will also possess exceptional leadership and supervisory skills, as well as high-level technology skills and the ability to design and implement efficient accounting systems and processes.

Commercial and strategic experience gained in a multi-layer company trading across an international landscape and working in multiple currencies is essential. Exceptional leadership, supervisory, and team development skills are required, along with high-level technology skills and the ability to design, implement, and develop ultra-efficient accounting systems and processes.
