About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Infrastructure Architect to join our team at Workonblockchain. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating our database technologies to meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Database Technology Leadership: Define, build, and operate new and existing database technologies to meet various user needs.
  2. Database Configuration and Security: Manage database configuration, maintain system access and security, lead database upgrades, and ensure the latest patches are applied.
  3. Capacity and Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor capacity and performance tuning using Oracle OEM to maintain service availability and identify issues before they occur.
  4. Incident Management: Manage incidents, requests, changes, and problems while providing resolutions and conducting root cause analysis.
  5. Team Coaching and Development: Coach senior infrastructure engineers on best practices and ensure their skills are up to date, while exploring innovative technologies.
Requirements
  1. Technical Expertise: Extensive technical background and solid evidence of database technologies such as Oracle RDBMS, Oracle running on Amazon EC2, Oracle running on Amazon RDS, and MongoDB.
  2. Leadership Experience: Experience in leading Oracle upgrades and patching on both RDS and EC2 instances, as well as MongoDB upgrades.
  3. Release Processes and Deployment Cycles: Strong understanding of release processes and deployment cycles, especially having deployed releases from test through to live.
  4. Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.
  5. Database Administration: Experience with database administration, including Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Secure Backup, and MongoDB.

We offer a competitive salary range of £39,591 - £55,023, with additional allowances based on skills and experience.
