Lead Investigation and Enforcement Officer

 A full-time, permanent role with a salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience is available. The position involves hybrid/remote working with the requirement to attend offices in Bedfordshire and other meetings as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced investigators, paralegals, Legal Executives or SQE graduates looking to progress their careers and qualify as authorised persons under the Legal Services Act 2007.

CILEx Regulation is the independent regulator of members of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX), including Chartered Legal Executive lawyers, paralegals and other legal professionals. Our regulation is proportionate, outcomes-focused and targeted at the cases that pose the biggest risk.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversight and management of cases involving self-declared conduct (prior conduct cases), which form the basis of our character and suitability assessments of those seeking to join and remain in the profession.
  • Arranging panel meetings and training days, monitoring and maintaining databases, ensuring adequate record-keeping and file maintenance.
Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent Level 5/6 qualification.
  • A legal qualification or relevant legal experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of interpreting and applying rules and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
