Underwriter Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at Morton Michel. This role would be ideal for someone with commercial combined insurance experience. Our underwriting team supports the direct and wholesale teams, dealing with underwriting queries from all aspects of the customer's journey. You will need to be organized and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with brokers, insurers, and across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deal with underwriting referrals for new business quotations, mid-term adjustments, and renewals in line with agreed delegated underwriting authority guidelines.
  • Handle queries within agreed authority limits.
  • Be organized with your work and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Adhere to compliance and regulatory procedures.
  • Ensure that team KPIs, service standards, and targets are achieved and exceeded where possible.
  • Be responsible for Technical QA and other ad hoc responsibilities as required by the business.
  • Be actively involved in providing training content and promoting a culture of excellent customer service and team performance.


Requirements:
  • Commercial combined insurance experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with brokers, insurers, and across the business.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Adherence to compliance and regulatory procedures.
