Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Join our team at Catch22 Independent School as a Teaching Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of our students.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to work alongside our teaching staff to provide high-quality support to students with complex needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for engaging with students, implementing behaviour management strategies, and developing relationships with students who may be vulnerable or have complex needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in delivering engaging and successful lessons, ensuring students are motivated and challenged.
  • Work with the team to implement behaviour management strategies, developing relationships with students who may be vulnerable or have complex needs.
  • Liaise with other agencies to ensure student needs are fully met.
  • Engage in interventions, both in and out of lessons, to foster effective participation of students in social, behaviour, and academic processes.
Requirements
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, including equal opportunities, discrimination, health and safety, SEN, and safeguarding of children.
  • Experience of teaching children with EAL, SEN, speech and language difficulties, or other complex needs.
  • Ability to work independently, supported by the teacher, with groups of or individual students.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage children appropriately, with experience of working with challenging students to understand their needs.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £19, £21,383.50 pro-rata (based on £23,000 - £25,000 per annum) *based on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including:

  • Full-time, 37 hours per week contract.
  • Permanent, term-time only (39 weeks per year) position.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
