Deputy Managing Director Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Managing Director. This is a challenging role that requires a strong track record in managing educational institutions or similar organizations.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration with senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for overseeing all functions within the college, ensuring appropriate financial planning, and developing strategies that align with our mission and objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with the MD, Principal, and College Senior Management Team (SMT) to develop and implement strategies that meet our mission and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Support the MD in preparing a corporate plan and annual business plan, monitoring progress to ensure that our objectives are met efficiently.
  • Policy Development: Offer strategic advice and guidance to the MD/GUS Board, ensuring that policies are developed to meet our mission and objectives while complying with relevant regulations.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee and report on commercial and operations outcomes, working closely with senior staff.
  • Talent Management: Ensure the recruitment and retention of well-motivated, trained, and developed staff to achieve our mission and objectives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Leadership and Inspiration: Provide inspirational leadership and have an unwavering focus on improving the student experience.
  • Marketing and Public Relations: Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote our products, services, and image.
  • Representation: Deputise for the MD in representing our college in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments, and other key contacts.

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum.
