Salary and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this position is approximately £32,000, based upon experience and location. Our benefits package includes a generous pension scheme with employer contributions (up to 12%), life assurance, and 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and paid closure of 3 discretionary days between Christmas and New Year.
About the RoleAs a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support on procurement activities, working closely with the Head of Procurement, internal teams, and external suppliers. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the identification and evaluation of suppliers, negotiation of contracts, and supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Collaborating with programme stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and supporting the development of plans to meet them within budgetary constraints.
- Supporting the Head of Procurement in the sourcing process, soliciting bids or proposals, and evaluating suppliers.
- Drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts throughout the procurement lifecycle to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Identifying and mitigating procurement-related risks to minimise disruptions to the programme.
- Monitoring supplier performance against established KPIs and taking corrective action as needed.
- Continuously evaluating and improving procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant experience in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- A good understanding of procurement principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- A resourceful approach to teamwork and stakeholder management.
- Strong confidence in IT Systems and excellent Excel skills.
