Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in pressure vessel design and implementation. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of pressure vessels, boilers, and storage tanks through rigorous calculations and technical file preparation.
Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing pressure vessels, including piping, insulated, and jacketed piping design. You will work closely with our team to create concept designs, product designs, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Additionally, you will utilize PV Elite for design calculations, analysis, and evaluation, as well as perform hand calculations for supporting parts to vessels.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement pressure vessels, including piping, insulated, and jacketed piping design
- Ensure the integrity of pressure vessels, boilers, and storage tanks through rigorous calculations and technical file preparation
- Utilize SolidWorks for creating concept designs, product designs, and manufacturing drawings
- Perform design calculations, analysis, and evaluation using PV Elite
- Carry out hand calculations for supporting parts to vessels
- Verify the integrity of pressure vessels and manufactured items
- Produce calculations and technical files
- Identify vessels falling under the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED)
- Evaluate Hazard analysis, Essential Safety Requirements (ESR), and Particular Material Appraisal (PMA)
- Benchmark and evaluate drawing work by less experienced team members
- Approve and check details on production drawings
- Review updates to pressure vessel standards and ensure compliance
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering graduate with previous experience in mechanical design engineering. You should have proficiency in PD5500 or ASME vessel design calculations, experience with both PV Elite and hand calculations, and be proficient in SolidWorks or a similar CAD package. Additionally, you should have a willingness to learn new products or industry, the ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, and a keen eye for detail.
