Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hooper Quinn. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for our clients in the Formula 1 industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems, including powertrains, for our clients in the Formula 1 industry.
- Work closely with internal and external engineering teams to ensure compliance with client requirements and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, test, and supply chain, to optimize product design for manufacturability, assembly, performance, and cost.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting on existing and new designs, proposing modifications to improve performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and engineering best practices, integrating innovative solutions into designs where applicable.
Requirements:
- UK Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Automotive Engineering.
- 2-4 years of relevant industry experience (following graduation).
- Working experience of CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CREO) and PLM software (e.g. PTC Windchill).
- Fundamental understanding of engineering materials (metallic/composite/plastic), fabrication processes, and manufacturing techniques.
- Strong familiarity with fundamental mechanical systems (e.g. bearings, shafts, casings, hydraulics, pneumatics).
- Hands-on engineering experience is desirable.
