**Job Description:** Strategic Financial Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Financial Manager to join our finance team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to achieve business objectives
  • Manage and control finance processes and systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
  • Provide expert analysis and interpretation of financial data to inform business decisions
  • Lead major financial work programmes, including end-to-end financial cycles (internal budget planning and preparation; in-year monitoring, forecasting and reporting; through to statutory/ external reporting)

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (member of CCAB) or equivalent professional qualification
  • Proven experience in financial management and leadership, preferably in a local authority setting
  • Expert knowledge of financial planning, management and reporting, as well as emerging trends and innovations in local authority financial management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
