Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Engineer to join our Technical Direction Engineering Team at Veolia. As a CAD Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in translating conceptual designs into detailed CAD drawings, ensuring that project timescales and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla software.
- Produce Bill of Materials (BOM) listings to enable specifications, calculations, and component selection.
- Collaborate with project teams to create, update, and manage Building Information Models (BIM) in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Utilize a Common Data Environment (CDE) to ensure accurate data management, version control, and efficient project collaboration.
- Work with the Engineering Team to provide consultative design support and assist with the installation and construction phase of project works.
- Produce project-specific installation specifications to obtain competitive installation quotations from local contractors.
- Create 3D renders for use in bid documentation.
- Generate, import, and work with lidar scans in CAD using Trimble X9/X7 Scanner.
- Liaise with Electrical Design Engineers to identify project requirements and develop detailed designs.
Requirements
- Previous CAD experience in 2D and 3D design.
- Relevant engineering qualification, such as a degree, HNC, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, and other relevant CAD software.
- Knowledge of BIM processes and standards (ISO 19650).
- Experience with Common Data Environments (e.g., Viewpoint, BIM360, or Projectwise).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
- Able to adapt to new technologies and software as required.
