About the Role

A reputable special educational needs school group is seeking a dedicated and passionate maths teacher to join their alternative provision in Northampton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create engaging and differentiated maths lessons for students with additional learning needs, including SEMH difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SEN specialists, and parents/carers to create a positive learning environment.
  • Develop individualized learning plans (IEPs) for students with specific needs.
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour using de-escalation strategies and promote positive behaviour.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching maths across Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
  • A proven track record of working with children with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage and inspire challenging students.
  • A passion for making maths accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
  • Patience, resilience, and an empathetic approach to working with vulnerable young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
