About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Specialist Team Leader. This is a unique opportunity to work with two young adults with autism, providing bespoke care, support, and education in a family home setting.

As a Specialist Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the care and educational support team, working closely with the young adults, their family, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of support assistants to provide high-quality care and education to the young adults.
  • Work closely with the young adults, their family, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized plans.
  • Provide direct support to the young adults, including personal care and skills training.
  • Develop and deliver care and learning programs, using clear structures, interesting teaching, and learning activities.
  • Champion the delivery of education and model effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and professionals to progress learning and life opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance regarding safeguarding, manual handling, health and safety, and GDPR.
Requirements
  • Experience working with young adults with autism and a commitment to their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Patience, willingness to learn new skills, and a commitment to building relationships.
  • Previous experience of working effectively with young adults with autism and a commitment to their learning and development.
  • Hold or work towards NVQ level 3 or more, with a real possibility of career progress within the company.
  • Experience in personal care and a willingness to engage with an exciting training package.
