About the Role

Funko is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller Apprentice to join our team. As a Credit Controller Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in managing our company's exposure to bad debt and working towards meeting monthly debt reduction targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Account Management: Actively manage customer accounts to limit the company's exposure to bad debt.
  2. Debt Reduction: Work towards meeting monthly debt reduction targets and reducing debtor days.
  3. Reconciliation: Reconcile EMEA ledgers and allocate credits where applicable.
  4. Customer Communication: Deal with daily customer queries, including copy invoices and proof of delivery documents.
  5. Order Management: Manage the release of orders to balance credit risk versus supporting business growth.
  6. Cash Flow Management: Ensure invoices are uploaded in a timely manner to assist with cash flow.
  7. Chargeback Reconciliation: Reconcile chargebacks and forward all necessary credits for approval.
  8. Internal Liaison: Liaise with internal departments as required.
  9. Weekly Statements: Provide weekly statements to customers.
  10. Bad Debt Reduction: Reduce bad debt on ledgers.
  11. EDI Management: Upload EDI (where applicable).
  12. Payment Management: Ensure timely payments from customers.
  13. Daily Communication: Engage in daily communication with customers via email, portal, and telephone.
  14. Process Compliance: Follow internal processes and controls (SOX Compliance).
  15. Debt Chasing: Chase overdue debt.
  16. System Updates: Update systems and shared spreadsheets.
  17. Payment Processing: Take payments over the phone from customers.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Previous experience working in Credit Control, ideally within the FMCG industry.
  2. Technical Skills: Excellent IT skills, including intermediate Excel.
  3. EMEA Ledger Experience: Experience working with EMEA ledgers.
  4. EDI Experience: Experience with EDI.
  5. Target-Oriented: Experience working towards targets.
  6. Adaptability: Open to change and new ways of working.
  7. Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills.
  8. Results-Oriented: Takes prompt actions to deliver results and support the team when required.
  9. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Problem-Solving: The ability to listen and interpret information, but also challenge the status quo.
  11. Organization: Highly organized and proactive approach to work.
  12. Time Management: Able to prioritize workload and respond to multiple deadlines and tasks.
  13. Assessment: Able to assess information, quality orientation, speed, and accuracy.
