**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated nurse to fill the role of Senior Matron for our Trauma and Orthopaedics department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and safety in our theatres, wards, and out-patient services.
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust provides trauma and elective orthopaedic services at two hospital sites. Our Poole site features a brand-new theatre, virtual fracture clinics, a plaster room, and a Trauma and Orthopaedic Ambulatory Care Unit (TOACU). We also have a medically stable trauma ward that focuses on rehabilitation, as well as lower limb fragility fractures. Our Royal Bournemouth Hospital site concentrates on elective orthopaedics, supported by two inpatient wards, pre-assessment/outpatient services, and three dedicated operating theatres.
As Senior Matron, you will work closely with the Directorate Manager and Clinical Director to lead the operational and strategic direction of our critical care services. This includes developing and implementing clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care and safety. You will also be responsible for providing leadership and expertise to assigned Matrons and specialist nursing/midwifery teams.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- To lead the quality governance portfolio within the designated directorate, supporting the improvement and strengthening of quality of care
Salary: £68,000 - £74,999 per annum, depending on experience.
