Underwriting & Assurance Analyst

We're seeking a highly skilled Underwriting & Assurance Analyst to join our team at First Central Services. As a key member of our Underwriting & Assurance Team, you will play a crucial role in driving the optimization of our underwriting footprint and monitoring underwriting and pricing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and reporting suites to support underwriting performance monitoring and assurance activities.
  • Produce ad-hoc analyses to support business decision-making and present findings and recommendations in a clear and logical fashion.
  • Summarize expected loss ratio by factor and recommend remedial action.
  • Deliver expected loss ratio and risk indices to business stakeholders.
  • Conduct standardized analysis and reports assessing the efficacy of recent pricing or underwriting changes.

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical background with a logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Experience with analytical programming languages such as SAS, Python, and R.
  • Broad knowledge of statistical methods and analytical techniques.
  • Experience of a relevant pricing, commercial, or underwriting role preferably within the personal lines motor insurance industry.
  • Minimum 2:1 in a numerical undergraduate discipline.
  • Good knowledge of general insurance – preferably motor personal lines.
  • Good knowledge of motor insurance products and the motor insurance industry.
