Underwriting & Assurance Analyst

We're seeking a highly skilled Underwriting & Assurance Analyst to join our team at First Central Services. As a key member of our Underwriting & Assurance Team, you will play a crucial role in driving the ongoing optimization of our underwriting footprint and monitoring underwriting and pricing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to various projects related to underwriting and pricing optimization, producing analysis to support the team's objectives and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools, reporting suites, and feedback/action loops to enable efficient and accurate underwriting performance monitoring and assurance activities.
  • Produce ad-hoc analyses to support business decision-making, presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and logical manner.
  • Deliver expected loss ratio and risk indices to business stakeholders, summarizing key findings and recommendations for remedial action.
  • Support the ongoing function of the Underwriting & Assurance Team by completing or contributing to analysis, monitoring, and reporting activities.

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical background with a logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Experience with analytical programming languages, such as SAS, Python, and R.
  • Broad knowledge of statistical methods and analytical techniques.
  • Experience in a relevant pricing, commercial, or underwriting role, preferably within the personal lines motor insurance industry.
  • Minimum 2:1 in a numerical undergraduate discipline.
  • Good knowledge of general insurance, preferably motor personal lines.
  • Good knowledge of motor insurance products and the motor insurance industry.
