Senior Medical Support Specialist in Older Adult Psychiatry

This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join our Older Adult Psychiatry Team in Salford.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to work in our inpatient unit that supports older adult mental health needs in Woodlands Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide senior medical support to the unit, working closely with other medical colleagues within the Salford area and supporting the inpatient team with clinical activity.

The post holder will also support the community team with clinical activity, including meetings, CPAs, professionals' meetings, and other Mental Health Act related activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with other medical colleagues to provide senior medical support to the inpatient unit.
  • Supporting the inpatient team with clinical activity, including meetings and CPAs.
  • Supporting the community team with clinical activity, including professionals' meetings and other Mental Health Act related activity.
  • Diagnosing and formulating management plans with supervision as required.
  • Working in partnership with local GP and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assessment and management of risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and risk of harm to others.

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree.
  • 4 years full-time Postgraduate or equivalent experience.
