About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SHEQ Manager to join our team at Newman Stewart. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating a positive safety culture and driving compliance by implementing robust policies, procedures, and practices that meet and exceed regulatory and industry standards.

As SHEQ Manager, you will ensure the effective management and continuous improvement of compliance performance across two locations, surpassing requirements in all areas, including safety, environmental permit compliance, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, packaging waste management, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, and carbon accounting.

You will work closely with the Head of Compliance to develop and implement strategies that minimize risks to the environment, safeguard the organization's reputation, and ensure the highest levels of safety for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective SHEQ policies, procedures, and practices
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks
  • Provide training and support to employees on SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive SHEQ experience and a certificate of technical competence
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships
  • Logical approach with the ability to analyze data and formulate action plans
  • Experience working within the waste industry is desirable, but not essential
