Job Title: Autism Support Worker

Location: Oakham Shires School, Rutland

Salary: £19,512.50 per annum

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team at Oakham Shires School in Rutland.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide support to the teacher and students, working with individual and small groups on educational and EHCP activities.

You will assist teachers in setting short-term targets to support students towards achieving longer-term goals.

This role has a particular focus on supporting our students with behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges, requiring patience, flexibility, and role-model behavior.

Requirements:

  • A UK driving license is required for this role, as our pupils often have days out into the local area.

About Us:

Oakham Shires School is an Independent Special School for 11-18 year olds who are Autistic and have associated diagnoses and special education needs.

Pupils are taught in small class groups of 4-5 with a high staff to pupil ratio, supported to achieve their Outcomes within their Education Health Care Plan, develop life skills, and achieve accreditations in Maths, English, and Science.
