Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing cost-effective and efficient procedures to purchase commodities in accordance with product specifications, services in accordance with User stated requirements, as appropriate in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Sources of Supply: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
  • Soliciting Quotes and Evaluating Bids: Prepare and issue solicitations, receive and evaluate bids, and negotiate optimal delivery schedules and prices with suppliers.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders: Collaborate with User departments, such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Planning, Facilities, and other departments to ensure their requirements are met.
  • Preparing Purchase Orders and Administering Contracts: Prepare definitive purchase orders, including terms and conditions, make awards, and administer contracts with suppliers within budgetary limitations.
  • Monitoring Supplier Performance: Track and analyze supplier performance, and prepare reports and other records pertaining to the items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product or service performance, supplier performance, and/or inventories, as applicable.
  • Resolving Issues: Identify and resolve problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, and payment to suppliers by taking appropriate corrective action.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Indirect/Commercial Purchases: Responsible for indirect/commercial purchases and continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities within those order categories.
  • Continuous Improvement: Perform other duties as assigned, including identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: A-level completion required. Entry-level purchasing or related experience preferred. Basic knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques or preferred. Working towards a level 3 CIPS preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel: Up to 25% travel required.
  • Shift: First shift.
  • Employment Type: Full-time.
