Timbek is seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our growing workshop as a Paint Finishing Technician. This role involves producing high-quality joinery items for residential and commercial sectors, requiring attention to detail and precision in paint application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, and priming as needed.
- Mask off areas to ensure precise application.
- Select paints, coatings, or finishes based on job requirements.
- Apply paint or coatings evenly and consistently using various tools.
- Ensure proper coverage and finish quality, making adjustments as needed.
- Operate and maintain spray painting equipment.
- Inspect finished doors for flaws and make touch-ups as needed.
- Verify colours and finishes match specifications.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment regularly.
- Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling chemicals.
- Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Keep work area clean and organised.
- Complete production reports and documentation accurately.
Requirements:
- Carpentry: 3 years (preferred).
- Paint Sprayer experience with water-based paint system.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Spray shop experience with traditional joinery (preferred).
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum.
