Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a specialist interest in trauma surgery and will be responsible for undertaking trauma surgery and fracture clinics.
About the Role
This is a locum 12 month Specialist Orthopaedic post attracting 10 PAs. Elective surgery is carried out at Wycombe Hospital, which has a dedicated ward for elective orthopaedics and a day surgery unit. The trauma service is based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, which has a designated Trauma Unit and provides acute surgical care to a population of 500,000.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake trauma surgery and fracture clinics, and will be responsible for delivering high quality, compassionate care to trauma and orthopaedic patients. The candidate will also be expected to participate in the Consultant on-call rota and work weekends as required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess FRCS (Tr & Orth) or equivalent, and will be registered with the General Medical Council. The candidate will also be expected to demonstrate appropriate training & experience in orthopaedic trauma surgery, and fellowship level training in Orthopaedic Surgery involving trauma delivery.
