Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Railway Fitter to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a key member of our Off-Site Freight team, you will be responsible for conducting wagon maintenance activities in on and off-site locations, ensuring all company assets are utilized correctly, and complying with prevailing valid maintenance specifications and engineering instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of high-quality maintenance services to meet customer specifications
- Conducting wagon maintenance activities in on and off-site locations
- Ensuring all company assets, including vans and tooling, are utilized correctly and accounted for
- Complying with all prevailing valid maintenance specifications and engineering instructions
- Supporting the delivery of the Workload Plan
- Ability to be deployed in any work area, both on and off-site, as required
Quality, Health & Safety
- Complying with company and statutory Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental, and other policies and procedures
- Participating in Health and Safety Processes, including raising Near Misses and completing Point of Work Risk Assessments
- Ensuring all equipment and parts exchange policies are adhered to
- Completing and issuing required maintenance paperwork in a timely manner
- Taking personal responsibility for ensuring work-related competencies are up to date
- Ensuring all calibrated equipment is in date
Customer Focus
- Maintaining good day-to-day working relationships with current and potential customers
General
- Maintaining good timekeeping and housekeeping in vans, use of tools, and equipment on and off-site
- Promoting good communication with the wider team and Line Managers
- Performing any other duties as appropriate within the individual's skill and competencies
