We are seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager to join our opportunistic corporate credit team, which focuses on managing funds with a private equity structure. The ideal candidate will have experience in origination and execution of direct lending transactions, with a strong emphasis on building relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.

The successful applicant will be responsible for driving origination in the UK, Benelux, and other locations as necessary, evaluating, underwriting, and managing private credit investments. This will involve interacting with various teams within our organization, including portfolio management professionals and corporate research groups. Fundraising activities may also be part of the role.

Key responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new transactions, conducting due diligence, preparing credit approval memos, pitching transactions to the credit committee, negotiating and reviewing legal documentation, and participating in deal closures.

  • Identify and develop strategic contacts with pertinent market participants including Banks, Advisors, Financial Sponsors and Direct Borrowers to support the sourcing of lending opportunities
  • Manage portfolio accounts - monitor performance and covenant compliance, prepare periodic/annual reviews, examine amendments and waiver requests, provide performance updates to managers, identify and act on warning signals, participate in portfolio reviews

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 years' experience in middle market lending transactions, including origination and credit underwriting, with a strong track record across the private equity universe. Strong experience in leading negotiations of credit agreements and other legal documentation is also essential. Established relationships with the debt advisory community, private equity community, and other direct lenders will be highly valued.

A salary of approximately £120,000-£150,000 per annum is anticipated, commensurate with experience.
