Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEMH HLTA with a passion for supporting secondary age students within an SEN provision.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored support to secondary age students with SEMH needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver educational activities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating students progress, both academically and socially.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support to address individual needs.
- Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Support the schools SEN policies and contribute to the development of students Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HLTA, specifically within SEMH or SEN settings.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
- Excellent behaviour management skills and strategies.
- Ability to build rapport with secondary age students and adapt to their individual learning requirements.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN education.
