About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Industry Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Institute of the Motor Industry. limited in Rochdale Area.

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to work with a growing company that prioritizes its people. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing vacuum tanker and material handling equipment at our Heywood depot and various customer sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and service vacuum tanker and material handling equipment at our Heywood depot and customer sites
  • Travel to various customer sites across the UK to perform maintenance and repairs
  • Work closely with the Service Team Manager to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Manage own work in progress and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified in Plant, Vehicle Maintenance or similar or proven experience
  • Preferably served a full apprenticeship, but not essential
  • Experienced Plant Fitter, FLT Engineer, Vehicle Technician, HGV Technician, Crane or Hiab technician, or similar industry will all be considered for this opportunity
  • Hold a full UK driving Licence

Schedule:

The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional travel required.

Salary:

The salary for this role is £35,000 basic plus overtime at a rate of £25 NET per night for every week spent working away from home.
