Administrative Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team at Bolton Council. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the school, ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the school, including preparing confidential documentation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Act as a first point of contact for visitors, staff, and parents, providing a welcoming and professional service.
  • Assist with the preparation of school trips and events, including organizing logistics and coordinating with staff and parents.
  • Undertake general administration duties, such as photocopying, filing, and completing routine forms.
  • Word process school documentation, including the production of letters, reports, and schedules.
  • Accurately input information to databases and spreadsheets, maintaining manual and computerized records.
  • Collate registers and complete returns as required by the DfE and LA.
  • Undertake basic bookkeeping, collect monies, and accurately record and balance funds.
  • Welcoming visitors to the school, ensuring health and safety and safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Respond to general day-to-day queries from staff, pupils, parents, and external visitors.
  • Make arrangements for external visitors, liaising with the Headteacher/Senior Staff.
  • Assist with other aspects of general administration within the school.

Requirements:

  • Reliable, conscientious, and approachable individual with significant experience of working in an administrative support environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, pupils, parents, and external visitors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
