About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Performance Associate to join our Performance Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a lead role in integrated project design teams and act in a professional, personable, and competent manner.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of other disciplines, excellent written and spoken English skills, and excellent organisational and planning skills to effectively work to timescales and deadlines.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects, advising and assisting clients on their journey to improved building performance, and offering advice on building system optimisation and energy consumption.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of projects
  • Advising and assisting clients on their journey to improved building performance
  • Offering advice on building system optimisation and energy consumption
  • Actively promoting all services offered by HL to assist Client's projects
  • Competently representing Hoare Lea at project meetings
  • Managing and prioritising the workload of a project team including specialist groups
  • Contributing to the professional development of individual team members
  • Monitoring project expenditure and reporting to team leader
  • Ensuring quality standards and technical accuracy is delivered
  • Identifying and highlighting risks to business
  • Gets involved in industry initiatives designed to promote the importance of building performance
  • An understanding and interest in building users
  • The ability to adapt to different projects and tasks
  • A creative problem solver able to think outside of the box

Requirements

  • A good understanding of other disciplines
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills to effectively work to timescales and deadlines
  • In-depth relevant industry experience
  • Enthusiasm for the role
  • Previous experience of energy consumption or building controls
  • Experience of mentoring junior members of staff
  • An understanding of project fee expenditure and resourcing
