About the Role

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of physical and mental health services across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath, and North East Somerset. We are seeking a skilled Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our North Bucks Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, based at The Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury.

The successful candidate will have experience in Old Age Psychiatry and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of modern mental healthcare provision. They will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the team, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, and sharing leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the North Bucks Older Adult Community Mental Health Team
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality care
  • Share leadership responsibilities with senior colleagues
  • Develop close collaboration with primary care services
  • Apply evidence-based practice and stay up-to-date with clinical and policy developments
Requirements
  • Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and on the Specialist Register or within six months of attaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
  • Higher degree or equivalent in a relevant field of medical, psychological, or other studies
  • Experience of working in Old Age Psychiatry and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
