Podiatrist Specialist Acute Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Podiatrist to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality podiatric care to patients with diabetes and complex vascular wounds within an acute secondary care setting.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Specialist Podiatrist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive specialist assessment, diagnosis, planning, treatment, and implementation of podiatric care, including wound management and pressure offloading to maintain patients' mobility and independence.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop care pathways and new ways of working, utilizing a full range of routine and specialist podiatric techniques.
- Providing specialist podiatry treatment to patients with diabetes and complex vascular wounds, including wound management and pressure offloading.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. We employ over 6258 staff and provide acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine or equivalent.
- HCPC registration and evidence of continued CPD.
- Experience in wound management, ABPI/TBPI, and wound offloading.
- The ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients and carers of varying levels of understanding.
- Ability to present written information in a logical manner.
- Ability to self-motivate and manage own workload in a busy clinic setting.
- Able to respond to unexpected changes and adopt a flexible approach.
- Ability to work successfully within a team.
Please note that applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £23 (standard) or £43 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
