About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join our team at Protocol Education. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and supporting students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Personalized Teaching: Provide tailored teaching to students with a wide range of special educational needs, from moderate to complex.
  • Develop Individual Education Plans: Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring they are regularly reviewed and adapted to meet students' evolving needs.
  • Engage Students in the Curriculum: Use creative teaching strategies and resources to engage students in the curriculum, fostering their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to provide a holistic approach to student development.
  • Track and Assess Student Progress: Monitor and assess students' progress, making adjustments to teaching methods to ensure continued progress.
  • Promote a Positive Classroom Culture: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Stay Informed about SEND Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in SEND education and incorporate new approaches into your teaching.
About You
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Additional qualifications or training in SEND are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEND students in an educational setting is essential. Experience working with students with complex needs is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, creativity in lesson planning, and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
  • Mindset: Empathetic, patient, and committed to providing the best possible education to students with special needs. A positive, solution-focused approach to challenges is essential.
