About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school in Barking and Dagenham. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism and behavioural challenges, to help them achieve academic, social, and emotional success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Nurture pupils in developing lifelong, transferable skills.
  • Assist in providing one-to-one and smaller group support.
  • Create a rapport with parents and track student progress.
  • Support the emotional and social development of pupils.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experienced in working with SEND pupils.
  • Good behaviour management skills.
  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils.
  • Good interpersonal skills and knowledge of SEND best practices.
  • Eager to support students academically and emotionally.
  • Ability to work in a team collaboratively to ensure pupil progression academically and emotionally.
