About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Train Ticket Examiner at Glasgow Central Station. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our passengers, ensuring their safety and security, and maintaining the highest standards of ticketing and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Check and issue tickets, handling cash and processing card transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Patrol the train and deal with overcrowding, travel, customer issues, and other situations that may arise.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities to board and alight trains, using a portable ramp as required.

  • Cash handling and customer-facing experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of a Microsoft Teams interview and a final interview with our organization. Successful candidates will be required to submit at least two satisfactory references, undergo Disclosure Scotland clearance, and complete a six-month probation period.
