Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Shift: Flexible 12-hour shifts, including days and nights, to meet the needs of our operations.

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Engineer to join our team at CHEP, a global leader in the supply chain and logistics industry. As a key member of our Service Centre in South Ockendon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively work with a multi-skilled team to identify and resolve equipment issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to drive efficiency, quality, and reliability improvements.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades using a multi-skilled approach, adhering to health and safety procedures and best practices.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Issue work permits and supervise contractors as needed.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering qualification.
  • Evidence of cross-skilling, particularly if your qualification is in a mechanical specialism.
  • Relevant certifications, such as PAT Testing, PLC qualifications, Welding, and Machine Safety (PILZ).
