About the Role

This Numeracy Support Assistant position is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young learners excel in mathematics. You will play a vital role in enhancing the mathematical skills of children in Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers to provide targeted support in areas such as arithmetic, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality numeracy support to students in need, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective mathematics lessons, ensuring a smooth and supportive learning environment.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress, identifying areas where additional support is required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, feeding back valuable insights to teachers and other support staff.
  • Ensure seamless integration of numeracy support across the curriculum, aligning efforts with school goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse situations and individuals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of numeracy development in Key Stage 2, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Possess a warm, empathetic approach, with the patience and enthusiasm to help children thrive in mathematics.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £12,900, taking into account a 37-hour workweek and 52 weeks of employment per year, plus 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
