Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Numeracy Support Assistant to join our team at a welcoming primary school in Preston. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a positive impact on the mathematical skills of children in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in developing numeracy skills through one-on-one and small group sessions.
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective mathematics lessons.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and integrated numeracy support across the curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of numeracy development in Key Stage 2.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or mathematics are desirable.

The estimated salary for this role is £12,900 per year, based on a 37-hour workweek and 52 weeks of employment per year. This figure includes 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
