RINA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Maritime Safety Consultant to join its Maritime Safety Consulting division.

This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working on a wide range of projects, including safety engineering management solutions for high-hazard environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety engineering and maritime safety, with experience in UK MOD (Defence) maritime / naval platforms or civil marine environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading safety engineering projects to ensure requirements are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality;
  • Managing projects either as an individual or managing a small team;
  • Supporting with bids, proposals, analysis and report writing;
  • Promoting RINA's safety capability to customers, providing expert counsel, through face-to-face liaison, relationship building and presentations;
  • Assisting the safety management team with augmenting safety capability to meet new and emerging market demands.

Qualifications & experience required include:

  • At least four years' experience in the application of safety engineering management solutions in high-hazard environments;
  • Knowledge of UK MOD (Defence) maritime / naval platforms or civil marine environment;
  • Experience in conducting Hazard & Safety Risk Analysis or Independent Safety Assurance (ISA) projects and have developed safety cases;
  • Experience in the use and application of Safety Engineering tools such as Reliability Workbench, ASCE, BowTie, Event Tree Analysis or Fault Tree Analysis;
  • Some working knowledge of Defence Standard 00-56 and regulations including DSA02-DMR;
  • Ideal experience in the UK MOD frameworks (i.e Aurora).
