The successful candidate will be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients under the direct supervision of the lead practice nurse and as part of the practice multidisciplinary team. They will also support the nursing team on an as-required basis.

About UsMajor Oak Medical Practice is a well-established training practice located in the picturesque village of Edwinstowe, in the heart of Sherwood Forest. We pride ourselves on our commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and our strong reputation within the local community.
We offer a range of services, including minor surgery, minor injuries, joint injections, family planning, nurse-led chronic disease management, warfarin management, DMARDS, shared care treatment, travel clinic, and group consultations. Key Responsibilities- Performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients under the direct supervision of the lead practice nurse.
- Supporting the nursing team on an as-required basis.
- Maintaining accurate patient records on SystmOne.
- Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
- Liaising with laboratory staff at Sherwood Forest Hospital Trust.
- Possession of a relevant qualification in venepuncture.
- Good standard of general education.
- Experience of working with the general public and in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong IT skills.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
