Manufacturing Engineer

At findapprenticeships.co - Jobboard, we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the Aerospace industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing plans of manufacture and assembly sequences and processes to achieve the required standard, product quality, budget hours, and delivery schedule as defined by Programme Management.
Key Responsibilities- Create accurate and detailed Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) to define the materials or parts required for the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
- Develop and implement manufacturing routing, process sketches, and stage drawings to support the manufacturing process, ensuring accurate specification for material requirements.
- Ensure the timely availability of Work Instructions to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and implement improvements to the manufacture or build process and build logic, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with the shop floor team to amend work instructions and rectify errors, ensuring manufacturing stays on schedule.
- Represent Manufacturing Engineering in a Shop Support role, providing expert guidance and support as needed.
- Compile SAP Production Orders to manufacture or rework components, ensuring accurate capacity planning and cost estimating.
- Maintain and update Manufacturing Engineering routings and process documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Source and request Tooling, fixture, and gauges required for manufacture and assemblies, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
- Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly processes, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Educated to at least HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline and/or a time served apprenticeship, with 3 years post-training experience desirable and 12 months ME experience.
- Working knowledge of CATIA (V5) & ENOVIA or similar 3D system, with experience in designing and developing complex engineering models.
- Working knowledge of SAP and the modules applicable to the Manufacturing Engineering function, with experience in managing and maintaining accurate records.
- Familiar with the use of Microsoft package software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, with experience in creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Familiar with the Engineering change process and documentation, with experience in managing and implementing changes to manufacturing processes and products.
- Engineer background from an Aerospace or high integrity mechanical manufacturing environment, with experience in designing and developing complex engineering models and managing manufacturing processes.
- Familiar with proven analysis & problem-solving techniques, with experience in identifying and resolving complex engineering problems.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques, with experience in implementing and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes.
