Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Leadership Specialist to join our team as a Public Health Nursing Team Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership to our 5-19 public health nursing teams, ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive and high-quality needs-led service to all Primary and Secondary schools in the Borough.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating an innovative school nursing service, delegating tasks to other members of the team as necessary. They will also ensure a high-quality school health service is effective and evidence-based in all Primary and Secondary Schools in the Borough. Additionally, they will work in collaboration with other healthcare and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services for pupils in Primary and Secondary schools in the Borough.

Person Specification

Essential
  1. Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife
  2. Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification- school nursing or health visiting BSc or diploma
  3. Current NMC registration
  4. Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training
  5. Mentor training
  6. IT Literate
Desirable
  1. PHSE credited course
  2. Evidence of other post-registration education and training in specialist areas e.g., Epilepsy, allergies
Experience

Essential
  1. Recent health visiting or school nursing experience
  2. Experience of coordinating and leading multi-skilled teams
  3. Be able to co-ordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets
  4. Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency working.
  5. Ability to facilitate joint working practices
  6. Experience of organising and managing own workload and that of others
  7. Experience of undertaking comprehensive health assessments, planning and implementing evidence-based programmes of care
Desirable
  1. Experience of innovative practice or project management.
