Job Summary

The Potting and Impregnation Operative will provide critical support to the Potting and Impregnation Team Lead in the execution of potting, encapsulation assembly, and impregnation processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute defined processes for potting, encapsulation assembly, and impregnation in accordance with associated risk assessments.
  • Operate Ovens, Vacuum chambers, and associated tooling with competence.
  • Create mould tools and ad hoc jigs in association with processing product.
  • Assemble product into jigs and fixtures conforming to drawings, build standards, and specifications.
  • Store, control, and use chemicals associated with the potting, encapsulation assembly, and impregnation process safely.
  • Work to specifications, build standards, and data sheets with competence.
  • Operate weighing scales and measuring equipment, both analogue and digital, with competence.
Health, Safety, and Environment
  • Demonstrate safe personal behavior at all times.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the working area.
  • Work in a 6S mindset to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area.
  • Support the creation of risk assessments where required.
  • Train support operators to specified work instructions and relevant risk assessments.
  • Follow the H&S reporting system.
  • Highlight anyone not wearing safety shoes and glasses where required.
  • Record and analyze near misses and accidents to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with relevant legislation and TT roadmaps.
  • Participate in departmental inspections and audits.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
  • Personal safety and control in relation to Ovens, Pumps, and Vacuum chambers.
  • Lockout and control of equipment.
  • Competence in the use, setup, and daily maintenance of Weighing Scales, Ovens, Pumps, and Vacuum chambers used in the process.
  • Safe usage and control of chemicals.
  • Magnetic product manufacture background.
  • Understanding of metric and imperial measurements using weighing scales, gauges, and tools such as micrometer, vernier, and dial gauges.
  • Understanding and competence in Ovens, Pumps, and Vacuum chambers.
  • Understanding and competence in the usage of various test equipment in relation to the potting, encapsulation, and Impregnation process.
  • Basic use of ERP system.
